"The most overwhelming folk performer in the English Language."  –Port Fairy Press (Australia)

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John McCutcheon has been an Oak Ridge favorite for decades. In 2008, John performed at the Grove Theater for his biggest audience ever in the Oak Ridge/Knoxville area. Proceeds helped start a fund to build a wheelchair ramp at the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge. With help from Pat McMillan, the Frances Alexander Foundation, the Jeremiah Kaplan Foundation, and Wal-Mart of Oak Ridge, the ramp was completed this winter. It's an important achievement for wheelchair access at CMOR, but there's more work to be done. This concert will begin to raise the money to build a second ramp to the next level of the Museum.

John McCutcheon's spellbinding performances feature guitar, banjo, hammer dulcimer, piano, fiddle, and autoharp. He is a brilliant songwriter, virtuosic instrumentalist, and charismatic storyteller. He recently released a double CD, Untold, that devotes an entire disc to his famous but rarely-recorded storytelling talents. John's performance at the Grove will be aimed primarily at adults, but children are welcome.

Thank to our sponsors: WDVX, 106.1 The River, WTNQ-FM 104.9, Anderson County Visions Magazine, the Ferrell Shop, and Karen's Jewelers.

Doors will open at 7:00pm; the concert begins at 7:30pm.
